A finalist in an Electrolux Design Lab 2012 competition has invented a doorless refrigerator wall with a honeycomb-like pattern that allows the user to simply press food and beverage items straight into the unit, according to an article in today’s Huffington Post.
The refrigerator is environmentally friendly in that it only uses power based upon how many items are stored inside. The “wall” also stops using energy altogether when the unit is empty. Designer Ben de la Roche will present his refrigerator alongside nine other finalists in Milan on October 25.
